The Manfrotto MVA520W-1 comprises a pair of 11.8" long aluminum rods that, when laid in down in parallel to create a track, make the basic building blocks of all SYMPLA rigs. Each rod sports a standard inner thread. Upon these rods, you can mount and position additional components of SYMPLA systems.
With the included screw junctions, rods can be joined together to make longer tracks. You can also join the tracks at different heights using the V-Offset component, which is available separately, or shift them laterally using the H-Offset component, also available separately.
Although the possible uses are numerous, these long rods primarily serve as the track for SYMPLA Fixed or Variable Plates, since their length allows a wide range of camera setups to be positioned for the operator's convenience.
